Loneliness is one of the most common reasons people give up van life. A good network also gives you practical help: tips on spots, someone to call when the van breaks down, convoy buddies for remote routes, and people to share a fire with.

Ways to meet vanlifers

1. Live map of vanlifers. On Vanlifer you can see who is on the road around you (approximate positions only) and message them.
2. Meetups. Join or create a meetup on Vanlifer: a beach evening, a hike, a skill-share. See vanlife meetups.
3. Festivals and gatherings. Many countries now have yearly vanlife festivals and van-build expos.
