Vanlife Meetups: Find or Organise One Near You
Updated · By the Vanlifer team · 2 min read
Short answer: Vanlife meetups range from spontaneous beach evenings, organised in a group chat the same day, to multi-day festivals. On Vanlifer anyone can post a meetup with a place and time, and nearby vanlifers can see and join it. The list below shows meetups currently posted by members.
Types of vanlife meetups
- Spontaneous park-up meetups: "a few vans at this beach tonight, join us".
- Activity meetups: hikes, surf sessions, climbing, yoga, a shared dinner.
- Skill-shares: solar and electrics, van builds, bike repair, foraging.
- Festivals and expos: multi-day events, often in summer, with workshops and van tours.
How to organise a good meetup
- Pick a place that legally fits several vans (an aire, a campsite, or private land with permission). Don't overload a fragile wild spot.
- Give a clear time and a simple plan ("sunset, bring something to share").
- Post it on Vanlifer so people nearby can see it, and share it in the community chat.
- Leave the place cleaner than you found it.
Safety
Meet in public first, let a friend know where you are, and leave if something feels wrong. Women-only meetups are a great way to meet other solo female travellers.
