Hi, I’m Gina — and I’m getting ready for my next chapter 🚐 I’m Gina, 68, from Arizona, and I’m getting ready to trade my house for a van and a whole lot more adventure. I’ve reached a point in my life where I don’t want to spend the next chapter sitting around wondering where I could have gone or what I could have seen. I want to go see it. I want lakes, mountains, little towns, beautiful sunsets, roadside discoveries, campfires, and those places you never would have found if you stayed home. I’m currently planning my transition into van life—finding the right Ford Transit, figuring out my build, downsizing my belongings, and learning everything I can from people who are already living the life. My van will be simple and comfortable. I want a good bed, a little kitchen, storage that keeps everything organized, a portable toilet, power, Wi-Fi, and enough room for the things that matter. I’m not trying to build a luxury apartment on wheels. I want a home base for exploring. I’m also bringing a very important passenger along in my own way—my husband Don, who passed away in 2021. I’ll have a special place for his urn in the van. He was my adventure partner for many years, and taking him with me is part of how I’m carrying our story forward. I’m still learning. I have questions about everything from solar power and refrigerators to where to camp, how to stay safe, and how to make this lifestyle work on a realistic budget. So if I ask something that seems obvious to experienced van lifers, be patient with me. 😂 My goal isn’t to rush around checking places off a map. I want to slow down, stay awhile, meet people, explore, and enjoy the freedom. I’m looking forward to meeting other van lifers, learning from your experiences, sharing mine, and hopefully making some friends along the way. So…hello, Van Life world. 👋 I’m Gina. I’m 68.
